POWER OF PERSISTENCE - POWER OF WILL

Picture
Will power. How many of us have it? Not many people out there exercise it at all. The power of will combined with desire make an irresistible pair to the powerhouse that is Infinite Intelligence. Will power mixed with persistence to accomplish the object of your desire is the best formula to ensure success. Often people that are persistent and have a strong will are looked down upon and misunderstood or hated on. This is because they are incredibly powerful. They produce results. They get what they want, and that is threatening to many people.
The majority of people throw in the towel at the first sign of opposition. A few carry on despite all misfortune or challenge until they attain their goal. These are the Niel Pearts, Travis Barkers, Jon Blackwells, and Henry Fords of the world. These are people that continued on the path to their desires no matter what.
Persistence is a state of mind that can be cultivated.

Many drummers with talent beyond the average drummer never succeed at having the drumming career they desire because they lack the persistence. As talented as I have become through my hard work, there are many whose talents far exceed mine and that hate and talk ish on my success. However there is one major contributing factor that I possess that they didn't. Persistence. I never gave up on my desires, and here I am today--able to create a life of abundance through my creativity and drumming simply because I never gave up, no matter what. And trust me... I had some great reasons to quit, just like everyone else.

If you can continue through the “beatings” of the ups and downs, the trials and tribulations, and keep on, you will be properly rewarded. You will be handsomely compensated, and you will know true pride and joy. Anything worth celebrating usually does not come easy. When you can find  opportunity in every adversity, you will have success. Every failure brings with it the seed of an equivalent advantage. This has proven to be true in my life over and over, because I find proof to support it. Where most people find reason to quit or cop out, I take it as one step closer to my goal. One less obstacle to face, and one more experience I can share to help someone else on their journey. Of course this was something I had to practice. It was not just naturally how I was. To develop the mindset of optimism took persistence in it of itself, but it is well worth the time and effort.

Defeat is temporary. Change it into victory through persistence. Remember that all the fills and beats you learned probably seemed impossible at one point, but with desire and faith and persistence you were able to not only learn them, but also master them. They probably even seem like something to laugh at for bringing such a challenge, but in the beginning seemed impossible. Remember this when facing new goals. If they weren't challenging, what real reward would they hold?

Some of the prerequisites of building a persistent state of mind are:
  • Having a definiteness of purpose by knowing what you want backed with a strong motive.
  • Desire makes persistence easier because there is a “reason” why you are doing what you are doing.
  • Self-reliance and belief in your ability to carry out your plan. You can further develop this trait and build confidence through the power of auto-suggestion outlined previously as well as in the steps that will follow.
  • Definiteness of plans--organized plans, even if incomplete to start will encourage follow through.
  • Confidence in your mission will get you through tough times that will test your commitment.
  • Making a commitment will make it harder to quit because the added threat of self-guilt.
  • Support from trusted and like-minded people in your Mastermind group or otherwise.
  • Will power--the habit of concentrating your thoughts on the plans for attainment of your definite purpose.
  • Consistency or “habit” results in persistence. What you feed your mind will become part of your daily experience as it leads to the positive or negative outcomes that follow.
Self-confidence is another piece of the puzzle that aids in persistence. Without self-confidence, we don't feel worthy or optimistic about accomplishing our goals. We can't be leaders, or make decisions. We can't live with excitement and enthusiasm. A guide to building and developing self-confidence through the power of auto-suggestion is listed below. Practice this like the other exercises. In order to really make progress and lasting change, you must invest time to developing these skills, qualities, and formulas. Like the other steps provided to change desire to its monetary equivalent, this process must be given daily use to actually develop self-confidence where it is lacking. In my opinion, there can be better use of time, seeing as how self- confidence affects every single aspect of our lives.

Investing the time to repeat these affirmations aloud with enthusiasm daily will reward you ten-fold!
  1. I know I have the ability to achieve the object of my desires. I have full faith in the attainment of my Definite purpose in life. I demand myself to take continued action, and practice persistence until I accomplish my mission.
  2. I am honest and just in my desires, therefore they can be backed by self-confidence, and built to last and endure any challenges or setbacks.
  3. My endeavors benefit others as they benefit me, I will succeed by attracting forces that I wish to use, and like-minded people to co-create and collaborate with.
  4. I have written down my exact demands and desires for life, and have committed to their obtainment with complete persistence backed by self-confidence.
You can use these, and make up your own that specifically address your goals. These really work, and are an important part of staying focussed and driven. To join other like minded drummers and stay motivated join the Drum And Grow Rich Facebook group here.
